I'm sorry about everything that you are going through and I hope that you will be okay soon. Try finding something fun to do to help you to be okay soon. Going for a hike or watching a movie or TV show or playing a game or talking to a friend or something else that you enjoy doing.

No, weight is not that important to focus on unless you are morbidly obese or underweight. As a guy I can tell you that skinny is not the same as attractiveness. Employers are probably more biased against sickly skinny people than they are overweight people. No advantage to being underweight unless you like brain fog and no energy. Anorexia is very unattractive and the skinniest ones are honestly hard to look at because they look so unwell and endangered. Disordered eating can make you malnourished, even if your BMI is not underweight. I know of a guy who got Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome from starving himself...this condition destroys cognitive function and now he can't live alone. The condition is caused by vitamin deficiency. Eating disorders can also starve the brain in general, leading to gradual cognitive decline. They also make the body deficient in electrolytes and that can cause cardiac arrhythmias, fainting, and seizures. A well known woman in my county was a normal nice young lady who struggled with an eating disorder. She was married and everything was looking up for her. Then one day she went into cardiac arrhythmia and collapsed. The medics were able to get her heart beating again but it was too late for her brain. She spent the rest of her life as a vegetable in the hospital. Eating disorders are extremely dangerous conditions. Please seek help for this.

There are healthy ways of losing weight. Try those (but only if you actually are overweight). Stay away from extreme dieting (and probably vegan) because they overlap with the eating disorder community. Many people hide their eating disorder behind a "healthy" vegan diet.... because salad is socially seen as healthy and has nearly no calories. There are many reasonable diets that actually are healthy and well balanced. No reason you cant lose weight in a healthy manner like billions of people have. It is better to be morbidly obese than have an eating disorder! Obese people are far far happier than people with disordered eating. Work with a good dietician AND a therapist.

Hey, if you want to diet, I think it might be best to talk to someone like Dr, or GP, or a dietician as they can then give you advise and a diet plan tailored towards you and your needs.
However that being said measuring your happiness on your weight isn't going to make you happy in the long run.
Weight is just a number, and happiness shouldn't be based on weight etc. it sounds like theres lot's going on for you right now, perhaps it would help to talk to a therapist etc about how you feel? is there an adult you trust like a family member, maybe an aunt or an uncle, cousin, parent? Perhaps a teacher or pastoral care officer if you are in school? Of course you could also talk to a DR or GP about how you are feeling too.
And you can continue to post and use the forums here too , we also have a chat room which has a support and advice channel which you may also find useful.

What about journalling or keeping a diary ? I know lots of people keep a diary and use it to track their moods and feelings as well as things like how they slept, how they feel their day went etc, or you can use a diary to just write things like whatever thoughts come into head etc jot them down.
You may find practicing mindfulness or meditating may also help.
