Question Still a Eating Disorder? - April 8th 2009, 09:10 PM

I use to have a eating disorder (Not eating enough) But I though I thought it as Im eating alot better now adays and actually enjoy having a chocolate bar and a big meal out with friends. But I still have the thoughts that Im constilly fat or not skinny enough and I dont look right or Im not pretty enough, Is this something to worry about as Im eating fine and, is this still counted as a eating disorder (I do understand you arent doctor and cant give me a postive answer)

Many thanks
Charlie

If you are getting roughly the correct amount of nutrients each day then you do not have an eating disorder

I would say if you're eating okay then you don't have an eating disorder, but if you're having the same sort of anorexic thoughts and feelings, this could be the beginning of its return. Sounds like you're doing really well so far though, if you're not letting these thoughts take over your lifestyle.

I would disagree. I'd say you do still suffer from an eating disorder.
I mean okay medically you may not be but in my eyes you still are. You're recovering from an eating disorder. Think of it this way. If i'm being sick everyday and then one day I stop being sick..does it mean on this day I no longer have an eating disorder? It might mean that i'm beginning recovery...it doesn't mean that I don't have an eating disorder anymore. Keep going as your are going. Recovery is a flippin long process, not something that is reached immediately. Recovery has relapses, it has days where it'll battle with you in your head...you have to stick at it and not resort back to indulging your eating disorder as much as possible. Aly x

Well maybe you need someone to talk to . If you have gotten over the food but not the body image issues then maybe you could talk to someone about it. It might help.

"Do you care, about all the little things or anything at all? I wanna feel, all the chemicals inside I wanna feel I wanna a sunburn, just to know that I'm alive To know I'm alive, Don't wake me 'cause I'm dreaming, of angels on the moon Where everyone you know, never leaves too soon!" *~Thriving Ivory~*

This is the song of my recovery
