Have you had a mental illness?
Yes. I've been diagnosed with Depression and Post-traumatic stress disorder.
Have you faced any discrimination for being mentally ill?
I've hit obstacles, but generally it's only myself holding me back. I think I hide everything very well from most people, to the point where it's very hard for me to even think about what happened - much less talk about it.
Are there any positive things you have learned from having a mental illness?
I think it's given me a slightly more interesting perspective of the world. I've learned to forgive people and try to see the good in everyone.

I've been diagnosed with the following;
Eating Disorders, ADHD Combined, Emotional Dysregulation, Severe & Complex Emotional Needs, Receptive Language Difficulties, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder & Depression.
The strong possibilities that I could have;
Borderline Personality Disorder & Dependent Personality Disorder.
I also am suspected to be on the Autistic Spectrum.
I also struggle with Self Harm (since 7 yrs of age), and Alcohol & Drug Addictions.
It's pretty crappy, but I try really hard to cope on a daily basis.
I have been bullied & abused because of my MH problems, especially by family members & in the past, from people at school, also online.

I voted 'I think I may have one' because I know something's not right in my mind. So far I've only been to one psychologist, who said I wasn't depressed, but possibly had anxiety issues. I didn't like her though, so I never saw her again.
Other than that, I don't quite know what's wrong with me. It's kind of hard, not knowing and all, because I'm tempted to do some researching on mental illness, to see if any of that explains how I feel/act/etc, but every time I've done that I've kind of latched onto the idea of a certain illness and gone 'Oh, yep, that explains everything', which really isn't helpful.
So for now I'll just sit tight and safe in my ignorance, I suppose.

Any way you can see another psych? I mean, at least if anything, to confirm whether you do or don't have anxiety issues.

Thankfully, the anxiety stuff's settled down recently, so I don't think I need to see someone about that, at least for now.
And I do not like to imagine the way my mum would react if I said I wanted to go see another psych.

I was diagnosed with depression by my GP last year, but since I've been seeing a psychiatrist my diagnosis has changed from that to possible depression/borderline personality disorder so we're not really sure what I have, but something isn't right.

Also, I have anxiety disorders too, but I have to figure them out still. Forgot to add this a long ago. x:

I've always been self-diagnosed with clinical depression, but I know that's not the same as actually being diagnosed. But lately, it's become more than a depression. I see things. That aren't there. One day, I kept seeing this man in a red shirt and blue jeans walking up the steps to my front door, and i would jump and look again, and of course, nothing.
In my school, discussing various mental disorders they all think they have. It's more of a fad than a real thing, and it gets on my nerves. So many happy-go-lucky people saying how awesome it would be to be schizophrenic and how they all want friends that are insane because they are the coolest. And I think, what about me? I am struggling inside my head, and none of them want to be friends with me. They wouldn't want this if they had it.

I haven't been diagnosed of anything yet but I know for a fact that there are quite a few things up with me. I'm not sure how that'd be received by my family and friends (the ones who do know seem to be accepting enough of it). It's inevitable though.. the being judged thing. Unfortunately, there is always going to be someone who has something (negative) to say.

I'm midily bi-polar. I've been on meds, but I went off them. Then when I have random outbursts I think I should go back on them. O_o BUT! I can use it as an excuse when I am just in a really random mood. =P
I'll do whatever it takes to be the mistake you can't live without.

Yes i have a mental illness. ok i think because i went to counceling and it just went down a lot. Met you from a tie between u and me buddy,
Saw you from my wired eyes with a twisted little lie, and my mind told me negative when i had a wish to own you with my heart, buddy and you split like twigs, senses told her i fell for him, and she told me "i loved him, and go get him" And while i said "negative he said "correct" <3

Have you had a mental illness?
-severe depression
-PTSD
-psychotic NOS (illogical thinking)
-and i think i have EDNOS (was anorexic, now i'm just a mix)
Have you faced any discrimination for being mentally ill?
-not really. just a few stupid classmates, but that's ok
-i do get it from doctors sometimes though. i go in with a symptom and some obnoxious ones look at my meds and think i'm making it up or it's in my head
Are there any positive things you have learned from having a mental illness?
-i've learned a lot about how to take care of myself, and how to differentiate healthy thoughts from illogical ones. i feel like i've matured a lot as a person

Yes, I have been diagnosed with a mental illness.
When I was a young girl, I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression.
I am still facing them both, I take medication for them every night.
Although, they're very hard to deal with, I have found some advantages: helping others coping with their disorders, as I can relate to a lot of others with these problems, its easier to help them through it.

depends...
i was never diagnosed or ever been to a shrink,my mom wont let me.i think going to a psychiatrist will make others think im a freak or something,so thats why.so i can't say anything about it,i might be wrong.
So when ill just say what i think.
I think i'm mentally ill cause i suffer depression through the day,i sometimes go blank in my own mind not knowing whats in front of me,i dont focus well.
I'm shy too.i've been discriminated for some reasons.i have no real life friends and i dont even try to have ones,i prefer to be alone and do my things.
maybe it is weird.but whatever you may suffer,it doesent mean others wont like you.they will accept you only if they find out that you
Trully accept and love yourself the way you are.
My thought is that even if were mentally ill, were just people like others,so none illness doesn't count for me.
Sorry if i was talking a bit out of the subject though.this is a poll.
