Voices

Heyo

I've had my diagnosis (paranoid aschizophrenia) for 9 years, so it's nothing new.
I hear 2 voices in my head, and I've heard them all my life.
I'm on meds, and it's helping.
BUT... I'm still struggeling so bad. I have bad days and good days, but lately it has all been bad.
The voices in my head are screaming, and I see things that are not real.
But I know its not real. But it's horrible no matter what.

Do you guys have any idea what I could do?
I can't stand being in my own head atm.

Dont worry, I am getting help.
Just needed to let it out.

Hugs,
Lucy <3

Hi Lucy,

I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. I can't imagine what it must be like for you. However, it is great that the medication is helping you; that's always a step in the right direction. Are these voices allowing you to be safe? The only advice I can give you is if you ever need to talk, my inbox is always open. I know it may not seem like much but sometimes it may be good to vent.

Hi Lucy,

It's always tough when we're already doing all the right things to manage our mental health symptoms and still find that we're struggling with them. I am so glad the medication is working though, and that you are at a point where you're able to rationalize and understand what is and isn't real.

Aside from us being here when you need to vent, I think you're on a great path to effectively managing your symptoms and as long as you continue to work with your healthcare team and let them know what is and isn't working then you're doing great! We're always here to listen though. :)

Thank you both for answering

It helped a bit to let it out.
Gonna talk with my nurse friday, and I’ll tell her how I feel.

Have a nice evening :) <3

Re: Voices

Do grounding techniques work?

Kind of like what we do to help with dissociation? Find something soft to touch, something strong to taste/smell?

Sometimes grounding techniques work with my clients so I thought I'd suggest it.

It seems like you have a lot of insight which is great. You can vent in the forums or the blogs. Maybe writing it out will help. I also hope talking to your nurse helped.
