Because of you, I check my closet every night.
Because of you, I live in fear, fear of the moments when we come face to face once more.
You'll never know the pain, the emotional turmoil and stains.
You'll never bear the scars I do.
The scars that I have because of you.
You don't know what it's like to see you in my nightmares, wake up, go out, and see you everywhere
You took my innocence and shattered my heart.
I should've run from you right from the start
I've been scared of you for far too long.
This is my moment.
Right here. Right now.
I'm going to be strong.
Today is the last day you walk free.
Today is the day.
The day I face your rape.

The subject is so sad, but writing great. It is so powerful and full of emotion. I am sorry this happened to you too. Stay strong.

I am sorry you had to experience this. Even tho the trial didn't convict him, good for you for standing up to him and reporting him. Your poem is sad but so captures the afterffects and emotions. Great writing
