I went through a severe time with my father when he used to hit me and call me a lot of mean things and when I was at a hospital I spoke up about it because I didn't want my brother going through the same things that I did...DCF is now involved and my dad is retailating against me and told the hospital I threatened him when I never did....We've barely talked since DCF came to talk to them....My dad used to hit me all the time when I was younger but he only admitted to the most severe times that left welts on my legs....

Since DCF is involved I’d keep documents of any time he does retaliate against you when he does talk to you. Write down the dates and times that incidents happen and what was going on when it happened. What was everyone doing before and during? That way there’s evidence.

Is there anyone you can get support from about your dad, such as a trusted teacher, guidance counselor, or therapist? It can help to have someone unbiased to talk to about tbis.
