acting/singing goal
next year, i want to get a good role in the school play. in previous years, i have been small, nonspeaking parts such as oompa loompas. the problem is, of course, my acting and singing. how can i get better? i REALLY want this!

Practice, maybe if you take some singing or acting lessons or something.that could help;)

Re: acting/singing goal
Really, the best thing that you can do is practice. Practice a little bit every day (if you practice too much, your voice will get tired and worn out, so don't overdo it).
I used to take voice lessons and it really helped me get the roles that I wanted, because the vocal coach went over the songs with me and corrected my flaws. It made me ten times better of a performer. If you don't think that you can afford such classes, practicing alone will do you good as well. :) I recommend practicing in front of the mirror. :p That way, you can work on your facial expressions, etc... And that will make you more comfortable with your acting. I hope that I helped. Good luck. :) |
Re: acting/singing goal
If your school or community has an improv team of some sort, this will really help you with both those skills (look around, I'm sure there is one somewhere)
If this isn't an option, maybe just getting together with friends and insisting on playing charades and stuff would help :) Good luck! |
Re: acting/singing goal
Are there any local drama groups that you could join? This would improve your acting skills and you may get to star in some other plays while you wait for next year to come :)

Re: acting/singing goal
Practice. Practice. Practice. And you guessed it practice. :p I would suggest taking singing lessons and joining a drama group if possible. But it's not necessary. Just work on buliding up your skills. That's what I did and now I'm the lead in my school's play. :)
