How would you define success? -
February 13th 2022, 02:10 AM
Some people define success as finding a career they like, getting married/having a family, or others. What does success look like for you?
For me, I'm trying to figure it out still. I am trying to shift away from career-focused success, and know that I just want to be happy. But, I'm still forming what that looks like.
Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive

This is a good question. In almost every aspect of my life, I have achieved what I want. The only things I'm focusing on now is being 'job happy' and finished my teaching degree.

I'm still working on defining it too, but for right now it means earning enough money to comfortably meet my obligations; hopefully some day at a job I like better. I don't need a lot by any means, but I want to earn enough to not stress over it.
And a partner would be nice. I used to want kids, but I don't think I do anymore, but there will definitely be at least one cat.

For most of my life, success just meant passing exams and doing well. Yeah, I (mostly) did that, but that's all I did.
For me, I think success is more about achieving what I actually want to do. Not stuff that I have to do or should do. I also think that success is also more about being happy or content with life. I don't need a lot to succeed in my life. But what I do what is a job that I can do and am happy with, enough to get paid to live, and long lasting, deep friendships and possibly a relationship too. Having a family is something that interests me too but that's a bit more complicated.
