wanna cut

yesterday i had a little fight with a friend.. he drank a bit alcohol and then he started to make fun of me. it really hurt me and he didn't want to stop making jokes of me in front of other friends..
since that i wanna cut so badly,i just don't know what to do. the last cut was last year when i found out that my (now ex)boyfriend cheated on me..
i have little self-confidence and now this fight took the last bit of it.
all day i am thinking of cutting and it gets worse :/
:'(

Re: wanna cut

aww please dont cut if youve lasted a year then surely you can last till the urge passes. You are stronger than i am because i cant even last 2months. could you try some alternatives? like listening to happy music or talking to a friend? or exercise? exercise always helps me :D i hope you get better and resist the urge to cut. You can do it! You are strong because you lasted a whole year didnt you?
<3 love and peace

Hey Bella.

Fighting with friends can be stressful, not to mention a blow to your confidence, but you shouldn't let them get you too down. Friends fight; they say things they don't mean; that's how it is. It doesn't mean what he said is true, or how he really feels - and the fact he had alcohol beforehand increases the chances that what he said was an accident, or something he regrets now.

Regardless, it wasn't fair of him to make fun of you, and you should talk to him about it. Tell him it made you feel bad, and you'd really like it if he didn't do it again. If he's really your friend, he'll listen, and adjust his behaviour, maybe even apologise.

Something that I find can boost your self-confidence is writing a list, or getting someone else to write one, of your good qualities. Then look at that when you're feeling low, and remember that you're a good person.

Another thing you might try - as well as the alternatives Kezia and Amiko have mentioned - is talking about all this. It's a good, safe way to get your feelings out; you could also try writing about it, if you don't feel comfortable actually talking to someone.

Chin up, and know that you're better than this.

Take care.
