I haven't properly SH'd for ages. I get urges but I make myself get over them. Thing is for the past month I've been scratching myself in my sleep :/ I woke up today with quite a deep cut on my chin I normally just have little scratches but this cut was bleeding last night as I have dry blood on my pillow :/
I can't help but think am I doing this subconsciously? Since I'm not cutting myself in the day I'm doing it whilst asleep? :/ Does anyone else do this?
Maybe I'm just over analysing this :/

I don't know too much about self harm issues Ceilidh, but that doesn't sound too right. You may be over thinking it because there's a chance you're just catching yourself accidentally as you sleep.
I haven't gone through this myself, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm here for you if you need to talk.
See how things go, if it still happens, maybe you should speak to a counsellor / or tell your counsellor. Or maybe tell your doctor. Doing things subconsciously is peculiar.
Take care <3

You might be, but if you're worried, don't hesitate to tell someone about it. <3

I agree with Tayla, dear.
Talk to someone about it if you are worried. It wouldn't hurt. You may be over-analyzing it, but again it won't hurt to bring it up. I'm here if you need to talk about anything. Keep your head up.

I've done it before. It was the same with me...started out as small scratches, and ended up getting pretty bad. But at the time I was having HORRIBLE nightmares...would wake up screaming and such. Are you having any nightmares or anything?
I still have the nightmares but they don't effect me as badly anymore and I only wake up with scratches and stuff every once in a while.
Since you aren't 100% sure what's going on, it might be a good idea to keep your fingernails trimmed and make sure there isn't anything else around that could scratch you during the night.
I think talking to your mental health nurse would be a good idea...as Ang and Tayla have said, even if it is that you're overanalyzing things, it never hurts to ask.
I'm here if you ever need to talk <3

Do you have any sharp objects in/around your bed? maybe if your just using your hands to do it you could cut your nails?? or try wearing gloves to bed
