Okay this will be abit of an odd one/question .
But basically I’ve pulled ( some of the skin was dead) off the bottom of my foot where my heel is. I did this Sunday night and it’s hurting like hell to walk on as I kinda pulled non dead / alive skin off too.. and without being to graphic it’s exposed the next layer of skin and has scabbed up. I know skin picking is form of self harm however I didn’t exactly pick it… more pulled it as some of the skin was dead but kinda like continued pulling it off because it left a rough patch round the edge … I have dermatillomania ( skin picking disorder , which is a form of self harm) but I’m having trouble indentifying if this is self harm or not . Also if anyone has any ideas on how I can get the skin to heal and be able to walk without being in pain or less pain. Like I know each day it’s going to heal and get better … but it’s awkward when people are asking what I’ve done to my foot and why I’m limping … I’m currently telling people oh I had a blister on the underneath of my heel that burst..

I do the same exact thing to my feet when they start to have dead skin like that. It does hurt! It doesn't seem like you were doing it as a way to cope/punish yourself/distract yourself/etc. It might be part of the dermatillomania since you continued to peel it even after it started to hurt you instead of stopping when it got worse. When I peel normally I just leave it alone and end up limping, but maybe a cushiony band-aid can help. When I've been hospitalized, I've had problems with my feet cracking open on the bottom and even bleeding a little bit when it happens due to the concrete floors, which also hurts quite a bit. I've been given a larger sized cushiony band-aid to put on that part of my foot so it doesn't hurt as much when I walk. Band-AID brand band-aids seem to have a specific cushion care type. It's not exactly what I was thinking of but it may work the same.

Thanks , yeah i just kept like pulling at it Because my brain was like now that’s bits rough you need to pull that bit off. Yeah I’ve like got some socks on which do help cushion as they are fluffy socks and I’ve like put some E45 cream on it in the hopes it like helps it to heal etc. I’m hoping when I wake up tomorrow it will be like a little bit better .

I'm sorry you are having a hard time with this and hope that you are doing okay now. The next time you are having a hard time with this, try to get your mind off of this for a while. For example, watching funny movies or TV shows, reading, drawing, coloring, painting, playing a game, talking to someone. Hope you are feeling better.
