While I've never self-harmed in the more 'common' ways growing up, I had done so as a teenager. I used to do it because I thought I deserved it. It took a lot of time to get out of. Almost 10 years later and still going strong.

Thank you for sharing this; I think it's important to bring awareness to self-harm! It's good to celebrate recovery and milestones as well as provide support and encouragement to those who may be struggling in their journey, and I think having a day like this does a good job of honoring that.
