The Sink (*Strong* self-harm warning)
 
Drip, drop
Drip, drop
Softly it falls,
The quiet sound.
But there it is:
Proof of my suffering.
The sink, once white,
Is spattered with red.
The water turns it
A weak brown,
And the drain
Swallows my sin.
It looks as if
I killed someone.
In a way, I did.
I kill a piece of myself
Every time I do this.
I weep crimson tears
As I destroy my own body.
Please,
Tell me when my debt
Will be paid.
Tell me why,
After so many years,
I still must atone
In deep scarlet.
