Question Covering up fresh self harm - August 10th 2013, 06:45 PM

Okay so I just got a new job and I self harm mainly on my wrists anymore because that has been the easiest to cover up with large rubber bracelets that no one questions why I am wearing them. But this new job won't lest me wear any type of bracelet and the uniforms are short sleeve. There are fresh cuts so I can't cover them with makeup and I am really not sure what to do because the scar gel will take too long I really don't want anyone to see them..

That sounds tricky. There's an article about cover up tips for self harm here. I hope it helps.

Hey there!

Are your cuts on both wrists, or just the one? If it's just one, you might be able to get an ace bandage and tell people that you sprained it while the cuts are healing. What color is your uniform? Maybe you could get a light fabric long sleeved shirt to wear underneath. Another idea is arm warmers. And of course, once the cuts are healing, makeup. You can get through this.
