We just missed this but last week was Rabbit Awareness Week in the UK.
Rabbit Awareness Week was started to help inform and educate the public on responsible rabbit ownership, as unfortunately, rabbits can be 'forgotten about' types of pets where they may live by themselves (when they are social) or in small cages (when they need larger ones), and without the right types of food. You can find out more about Rabbit Awareness Week here
I don't have any rabbits, but I did grow up watching Bambi and thought that it was natural for rabbits to thump their back legs (after the rabbit character 'Thumper') but have only recently learnt that rabbits do this when they feel threatened!
Do you have a rabbit/s? Or know someone who has? What have you learned about the care that rabbits need?

My friend used to have a rabbit and he definitely needed a lot of care and didn't like to be picked up, but he was friendly either way and would jump up next to you. He was a lionhead!
