My old dog that's a puppy inside <3 -
June 12th 2020, 09:09 PM
I have five pets. I have one dog, two fish, and two bunnies. I am worried about my dearest dog Chance. He is 15 1/2 and is getting old. He is actually doing INCREDIBLY well! He can sprint down the road with me, sometimes faster! But when he gets up from laying down, he trips often. Most of the time he catches himself, but sometimes he falls on his face . But even though I'm scared of him dying, I am very lucky and grateful to still have him here. Even though he is old and deteriorating, he is behind aging from his body; inside he is still a puppy.

Hello You have so many lovely pets and thank you so much for telling us about them I totally understand what you mean about your dog getting old and one day passes away. That is something we think about and we never want it to happen.
When we have pets we love them so much, that we want to keep them with us forever because we become best friends with them and when it is time and they do pass away it is hard. I am sorry that your dog is older. What you can try to do now is take a lot of different pictures of you with your dog when the two of you are doing fun things together and then put them in a scrapbook. Then you will have them with you no matter what happens. You will be able to look at them whenever you want to. You can always keep them with you and they will not get lost. Try not to think about your dog passing away and I know that it is hard not to. Just think about all of the great times that you are having with him and before. That is what you are always going to remember and to be able to keep with you also. I hope that you will be okay soon and thank you so much for telling us about this.

Aww, thank you for sharing this with us. It can be upsetting to see our pets get older and decline in health, but it sounds like Chance's inner puppy is still alive and well!
I think it's understandable to be scared, giving Chance's age, about him dying. But as Emma said, it can help to make the most of the time you have together- it can help in the future if you want to make a scrap book of memories.

Hey, thank you for sharing this. It's great that your dog still has the energy of a puppy despite being old. I suggest not thinking about him passing away and just focus on the time you do have with him. Perhaps take pictures when you're on your outings and start saving them so you can look back upon them when he's gone.
