Re: Need some advice for stand against mental problems

Hi Hasan!

My therapist always tells me to have something to look forward to when I am feeling suicidal, or to make a goal so I can't die until I complete that goal. When the thing I'm looking forward to or want to accomplish happens, I make up something else. What you look forward to doesn't have to be anything big. It could be that you have to live until you finish your favorite book series or beat a video game. Then, make the new goal.

You also don't have to live for anything big either, if there's nothing big going on. You can live because you want to see the seasons change, because your pets would miss you, because you like enjoying your favorite beverage/food, because of sunny days, or something else. This is a list of reasons to live. Maybe you'll find something on that list that really speaks to you.

This is a list of alternatives. I know it talks about things like self harm and addiction but I think that they can be good coping mechanisms for a ton of different situations. Give it a try and see if some of the things listed there help you feel better when things get really rough.

You said you can't talk to anyone, but can you find another way to express yourself, such as through writing, art, or music? It can really help to have an outlet for your emotions. You don't have to create anything that "makes sense," it's just all about getting it out of your system so it's not bottled up as much.

Re: Need some advice for stand against mental problems

Hi there, welcome to TeenHelp! Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry you're struggling right now.

I want to say that the examples Dez gave were just that: examples. You need to figure out what there is worth living for. A pet? Your family? Friends? A special someone? Sports? There is always something worth living for, and I would suggest taking the time to write about it. Sit down at a table and just write for fifteen or twenty minutes. Let your mind take over, don't worry about any mistakes you make with your writing, just let it all come naturally.

Dez also suggested the list of self-harm alternatives and coping method, so I would recommend taking a look at that. If it's possible, I would suggest reaching out to a friend, family member, or another trusted adult for support. Have you ever sought out treatment for your depression? Are you on antiphsychotics? If not, these are things I seriously suggest checking out because they can improve the quality of your life.

Wishing you the best of luck, and feel free to reach out again if you need to.

Hi , thanks for your advice
No one of my family can help me , and i don't have any friend to share it with
and i said , because of my family i can't go to a therapy or any other doctors , but i'm using a antiphsychotics that called trifluoperazine
and my problem is not a "reason for living"
i suffered my whole life and i'm tired of it
it's even hard to breath for me because i'm tired and i can't do it any more
