Why can 2 people in the same family get treated so differently? Let me give you an example, if I pushed into my brother I would be grounded and if he comes up and punches me repeatedly in the shoulders then it is my fault. let me give you another example if I throw a shoe and it accidentally hits him i get a shoe thrown at me by my dad who is standing less than a meter away. if anyone could give me an answer to my question in bold i would appreciate it greatly.

Sounds like a dysfunctional family environment to be honest. That's how my family works too.
We don't have harsh physical altercations nearly as often. But my dad does things like spit into my sister's salad as a form of "discipline"
Dysfunctional families can form when there's alcohol or drug use or other addiction, a family member with emotional, psychological problems or chronic stress such as someone living with a mental illness or a family member with a severe disability or a family living in poverty or having suffered grief which strains the family and the family isn't coping well, etc and/or parents who were raised dysfunctionally themselves and have not been able to break the cycle.Posted September 23rd 2017 at 03:16 AM by NeuroBeautiful
