Robo Bathrooms

Or as some of you non-americans might call it, "Robo Loos"...which actually has a better ring to it I must say.
As we're moving deeper and deeper into the technological world, we're seeing more touch screen, robotic, or just simply "automatic" things. Most of these things are rather cool. Like those games on the iphone...I bet my mom would have never imagined something like that when she was my age.
But some of these automatic things are just plain frustrating! For example:
The Automatic Bathroom...aka Robo Toilet...aka...
"RoboLoo"
I always try to avoid using public bathrooms because whenever I go in there I always feel like it's out to get me. First....the toilet. Of course, it has an automatic flusher. And of course, it almost always goes off before you're finished with your "business". And then when you do finish, and stand up, it just sits there...like it's boycotting the flusher...mocking you because it's no longer in your control. I swear sometimes I think there's little gremlins in there...staring at me through the little red blinky light just trying to piss me off.
Then...the hand washing. Even the soap has crossed over to the automatic side. It usually takes a few tries to set off the sensor, but eventually you get your soap (which it never gives you a sufficient amount for proper cleanliness) and go to turn the water on. And yes, it too has lost it's handles. The sink is the part that really gets to me. Your hands are full of soap and when you wave your hand in front of the little sensor, it never turns on. You end up frantically waving your arms around like you're trying to wake a sleeping lion from a mile away just in order to rinse your hands so you can be on your way. I feel pretty ridiculous doing this. And then why is it that when you go in the bathroom to fix your hair or something, and you lean over the sink to get a closer look...the water ALWAYS turns on?!
Gremlins are taking over public bathrooms!!
What happened to good old fashioned "hot" and "cold" knobs. Oh, and paper towels...oh how I miss thee paper towels. *sigh*

TWLOHA day tomorrow! Who's wearing their shirt with me?
