A few days ago I got that feeling that you get right before you get a bad cold. I get sore throats/congestion pretty often, so I didn't think too much of it. Then Thursday rolled around and I could hardly swallow, and my temperature was at 102F. That's not exactly normal so I went to the doctor yesterday and they were pretty sure it was strep throat...just what I was hoping for!

I got the test results back this morning and it was negative for strep. Sooo they're not exactly sure what the hell is wrong with me...either mono or tonsillitis or some other viral infection. (all of which don't sound too pleasant ) The past 3 days have consisted of shorts and big t-shirts, bubble baths, lots of youtube and coughing, hot chocolate and herbal tea. In fact that's about all I've been able to consume besides pain killers (which I'm loving right now). Everytime I try to eat it feels like I've forgotten how to swallow. It took me 15 minutes to eat a tiny piece of cornbread this morning. So pretty much I'm involuntarily on a liquid diet. You know that feeling when you go to the dentist and you're laying down and while they're working on you you start to collect saliva in the back of your throat that you need to swallow but can't cause your mouth is open and when you try you end up gagging? Well that's sort of the feeling I have whenever I try to eat, sleep, and pretty much all the time. It's frustrating.

I requested to go on leave because if it is mono then they say it can last 2 weeks or more. I just haven't been in the mood to be on TH as much as I usually do. And if I were to try to talk to people I'd probably just come off as irritable and negative, which isn't good for anyone. So I'm taking some time off...hopefully this mystery illness won't last too much longer.

Hope you all are well and healthy
