The days that ruin the rest of my life *poss trig*

Curled up in bed, feel sick and crying. Eight exams to go in the next nine days, I've revised but still know nothing...
I'm going to fail, ruin everything... So stressed, can't cope. Self destruction >_<

You wont fail, beautiful. You just do as good as you can and it will be enough. In year 11 we were given a talk about how to psychologically prepare for exams, so I'll tell you what we were told. This one tip has helped me through exams a lot in the past. When it comes it it, first of all, bananas are good. Eat one. Secondly, even if you think you'll fail, go in telling yourself you will be okay. Even if you don't fully believe it, go in and try to be positive about it. You don't have to be absolutely adamant you'll pass, obviously we all have doubts. But just reassure yourself as best you can. A positive attitude, even when forced a bit, is good because you'll find it easier to motivate yourself when it gets tough. If you get stuck, don't stress. Put your pen down and take a deep breath. Remind yourself that you can do this, and then carry on.
I know it seems simple, but it's helped me, so hopefully it will help you too. Give it a go, yeah? Don't consider yourself a failure before you've tried. As far as I'm concerned, you're a success if you do as well as you can do. If you come out with grades slightly worse than what you wanted, it doesn't matter. You've tried and you've made an effort. We can't be perfect all the time.
Try some different revision methods too if it helps. Revise with people, or find a way to give the topics semantic meanings. It could help when it comes to reproducing the information in an exam.
It wont be easy over these next 9 days, but I have no doubt in my heart that you can make it through them. Stay motivated. Even when it's difficult, remind yourself to try and be positive in some way. Drink plenty of water, get enough sleep, have breakfast, and go in there ready. You can do it, Charli. I believe in you. You really wont ruin everything. If you don't so we well as you hoped, it's not the end of the world, and certainly not your future. If you're stressed, focus on breathing for a bit. Take a break for five minutes and focus on calming down before you get back to work. No one can focus for hours and hours without taking a little break to remind themselves that they're okay.
Trust me, you can do this. Use some distractions and allow yourself some space. Don't set your goals unreachably high because it's all about being happy with what you get, not setting unreasonable targets that give you more of a chance of failure. I mean it, you can do this.
I'm always here if you need me. Chin up, yeah? <3Posted May 14th 2012 at 10:23 PM by Everglow.
