Life sometimes wins. Today was an example of that for me.
I woke up and it was like any other day and then it started. First it is the panic then the wanting to cry, and then finally the self-harm urges and it has been hard not to give in to them but so far I have. Today was a day that I thought would be fine, I did not do much so why would I go into full meltdown mode. and writing this I still don't know.
But after today I am dreading the Christmas period. I can...

Stripped by Depeche Mode - I listened to this song when I was younger maybe 13/14 and loved it. Replayed it a thousand times. Forgot about it and then today I found the song again and I'm gushing at how good it sounds. I'm still listening to it. I bet the neighbours are sick of hearing it being replayed over and over again since 9am.
Anyways. Today I cleaned my bedroom, it's been ages since I've cleaned my room. I found the collar of my cat who passed away last month and I...

I am off my meds totally now after weaning off and the depression has already hit. I'm angry, sad, miserable. I have been having self harm urges but since it's been almost two and a half years I never have my tools on me anymore. I'm starting to think about taking them again.
I give up on learning how to drive. I accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake. We were in reverse so we reversed fast and almost went up and over a curb. I'll never get my license which means I'll never get...

I know what you're thinking.
When you go through a setback
Such as losing a friend,
Breaking up with a significant other,
Or maybe you're having trouble
Going after what you want,
Going after your dreams.
You hear that cold, negative voice
Telling you that you can't have it,
That you can't do it,
That you're not meant
To do something big with your life,
That you'll never be good enough
For...

I don't know why it upset me.
I don't know why it angered me.
I don't know why I felt something in me snap.
I didn't know this girl,
Nor did I take the chance
To see if she was doing okay.
Though, by looking at her face,
From where I was sitting at in the library,
I could tell that she most likely wasn't.
And it wasn't just an expression.
Her face was badly bruised.

This poem differs from all the others I've been writing. This one I don't really include a message to be learned from, but more like my own experience of how my high school crush never came to be, and I'm sure some can relate to this. This is written in the eyes of how I saw this experience back in high school.
I wonder how things would be different
If maybe I just told her
How I felt about her
All those years ago.
In the beginning
When I...
