Boredom.

I'm bored.
I saw my doctor less than an hour ago. I'm really glad I did because the pain is worse today. I can move my neck slightly to either side, but not far. If I try to push it, it feels like there's a physical block in the way, and it hurts a lot. Doctor said he could see how tense I was from trying to control my movements so it doesn't hurt as much. He's decided it's a muscle spasm and given me some Diazepam. I'm also waiting on an appointment from a physiotherapist.
Not sure that 'muscle spasm' explains why the pain goes down both sides and into my right foot, but hopefully the physio can help with that.
So now I have to spend a day or two 'resting' at home and see how things go.
Unfortunately, I think my job is limited in terms of workplace adjustments. Sitting at my desk all day definitely isn't helping, but it's a desk job. I can do filing, but that's really difficult just now so I'm only doing ten/fifteen minutes a day, or until it gets too uncomfortable. One of my colleagues suggested a standing desk, which would be great if my back didn't hurt when I stand for too long. I injured it when I was 16 and it never really forgave me for that. It is possible to have an adjustable standing desk. So it'd be at the right height for me to stand at, but I can move it back down if I need to be seated for a while. But they're super expensive and difficult to justify in the budget unless someone has a disability or chronic condition.
So, for the past hour, I've been officially off sick for the first time since I started working there... and I'm already bored.
What do people do when they're off sick? I'm logged into my email, but I can't access the network on my laptop so all I can do is answer emails.
I don't want to sit and do nothing all day, it feels like I'm slacking or something. Damnit.
I guess the house could do with a clean. That'd keep me occupied for a while.
What do people do all day when they take a week off with 'cold symptoms'?!
