Calendar.

I've marked two weeks on the Staff Calendar. The pain in my neck and back is spreading to my legs and feet when I spend too long sitting or lying down. Moving about seems to help. I spent today helping mum move her office, she kept telling me to watch my neck and don't lift anything too heavy or push myself too hard. It wasn't too bad, I took some paracetamol so I think that definitely helped to keep it at bay when I was carrying boxes and setting stuff up.
Got into the car to come home and started feeling sick. Dozed on the couch for half an hour to see if it helped.
Still feeling sick and I'm getting sore again. I think it's because I've been sitting for a few hours, although I have changed position fairly often.
Problem is I have a desk job so from 8.30 until 3.30 tomorrow I'll be at my desk. Jan is on annual leave so I'm not technically allowed to leave my office unless someone watches it for me.
The only non-desk task I really have just now is filing in the HR office. I can only do that if Jan is in, but even then, I'm struggling with that. The bending and moving is aggravating my back and neck.
So sitting still too long hurts. Moving too much hurts. I don't want to have to rely on painkillers just to get through the day.
Not sure if feeling sick is because I haven't really eaten today. Mike has an hour long singing lesson tonight so might just drop him off and get my sat-nav to find somewhere nearby I can get some dinner. See if that helps.
Urgh I just want to feel normal again. I know this is nothing compared to what lots of people here deal with in terms of physical pain. For me, it's bad. I'm not used to it and it's so constant. It just doesn't stop.
Four weeks on Saturday until my new bed comes. Can't come soon enough.

I'm really sorry you are dealing with this. Have you seen a chiropractor? I've seen them in the past and they take x-rays of your spine and they do other things to help you with pain relief. I'm not sure if you've seen a neurologist but they also can see if something is related to your spine and if so they know what to do. I would also recommend seeing a Massage Therapist which they can tell if you've injured a muscle and can help to bring it back. I do know when I saw my Massage Therapist, it's a very painful experience but you do get relief.
I'm not sure if you are able to do those but it can provide some ease for you. I hope you start to feel better.Posted February 18th 2016 at 07:17 PM by MsNobleEleanor
