...Until Christmas.
How terrifying.

Work is going good. It's my job now to make reports on absence rates, as well as the gender and ages of all our staff. Those have been a disaster in themselves because of communications issues, but I think they're just about perfect. I'm just waiting for the chief exec. to okay them and then I have a template for all future ones, which is good because it drastically cuts down the amount of time it takes to make them.
The biggest challenge was pulling all the relevant information from the HR system. There are reports you can run that literally pull whatever information you want in whatever order you want and you can then export that to a spreadsheet, but getting the settings right so you get all the information you need is tricky.

I've been working hard and seem to be getting on with everyone. They're all so friendly and say hello to me in the corridor and ask how I'm doing. One of the ladies in my dad's office is just so hyper, I love her. She has about 14 cups of coffee a day and is happy and excited ALL the time. She was doing some of the things I'm doing now before I got there so she's been amazing help. Especially in trying to decipher the Royal Mail map that shows how much it costs to ship to different countries. Marketing have so far sent things to Spain, Japan, and South America.

Tonight is bonfire night in the UK so I'm keeping a close eye on Alfonso. She jumps a mile if you so much as click your fingers near her so I was really worried how she'd react to all the fireworks. Especially since my room is at the back of the house, which backs onto a street that lets off fireworks at every possible opportunity and tend to go late into the night.
She's in the living room just now. I've given her some treats and lit a nice smelling candle. I'm also making sure not to react to the noises and I've had her out for a while so everything is as normal and calm as possible.
She seems to be okay so far but I'm keeping her in here tonight just in case.
I can never sleep on bonfire night because of those people so I doubt she would enjoy it much.

Started my driving lessons again on Saturday. It went okay but my confidence is a real issue. I'd happily sit at a roundabout and wait until no one else was there before I went. So we're going to work on that and I'm going to book my theory test. Gary, my instructor, has said I'm capable of getting my license by Christmas, since that was my original aim, but since the waiting list for the test is so long it probably won't happen. In his words though "You'll be on the roads by Easter" so that's good!
This is the car I've decided to get when I pass

It's a Fiat 500 and it's so cute and I love it. My dad says I'd be able to get it on a finance plan for it so I'd pay about £200 upfront and then £200 a month. I'd also be able to get the first year's insurance for free as part of the plan so that will hopefully let me start building up my no claims and get that price down fast. Insurance for new drivers my age costs a fortune. I think it's around £1000 a year.

I love my soon-to-be-mine car. I'm hoping to get heated seats and *maybe* a sat nav. I wanted to get the parking assistant that beeps when you by a space big enough, then you let go of the wheel and it parks the car for you. I haven't had to park yet but it's a fair bet I'll be pretty awful at it.

That car is quite adorable. It reminds me of Guido from the movie Cars. Good luck with your driving lessons! Parking is easy peasy. The only thing I had trouble with was parallel parking.. yikes!

That car is so cute! Love the color. Parking is actually decent - I like to get where there's two spots and pull completely forward if the parking lot isn't crowded. Hope Alfonso was okay with all of the fireworks!

The car is adorable, too bad it sucks going up hills. I want to start driving school, get my license, and a car, but ughhhhh. Glad to hear things are going well at work! <3
