Got a letter from college this morning. They've sent me a fucking invoice for £1285. I don't HAVE that kind of money. It's not like we have a bank account with 1200 quid to spare just sitting in case we need it. The reason for them sending me this? According to their information, SAAS aren't paying my fees. Actually, we don't know if they are yet because my application from over a month ago is still going through. They could at least have the common decency to wait until SAAS tell them whether they're funding me or not.
The letter says if I don't take in an award notice from SAAS (saying they'll pay it) along with the invoice, or go and talk to the Finance department about a payment plan, I'll be taken out of the course.
That's just fecking marvellous.

Because it's a weekend, there is literally nothing I can do about it till Monday so I get to sit and panic until then.

Talking to a friend from college about it who's being calm and supportive and saying it's the college at fault and to talk to them.

Parents are refusing to pay it because I'm the right age and under the right circumstances to be eligible for my course fees to be paid and there's no reason they should reject me.

Dad says he's going to call college on Monday. He's going to bring my mental health into it (though I suppose in the past hour my stress levels have gone up and my sanity has been significantly reduced) and threaten them with the media if they do nothing.
Because being on the front page of the Wishaw Press which isn't available outside Lanarkshire is really going to do a lot.

I don't want to be taken out of the course. I'm doing okay at it. I can do the work and I'm not struggling anywhere near as much as I was last year in class. College-wise, things were a lot better. Now I don't even know if I'll be able to keep doing the course. :/
