For once I am actually kinda glad that I live in Scotland. At least I can UNDERSTAND our education system. I'm thinking of going to study Psychology at college in England because the course looks amazing and it covers bits about being psychic in the second year which fascinates me. But it's so bloody complicated! God.
I already emailed the college because their requirements only had GCSEs and I wanted to know if my Scottish grades would be okay since there was nothing about that. Point 1: Most, if not all, colleges and unis in Scotland have both English and Scottish exam requirements. They're considerate that way.
Then I need to look at accommodation. I'd need a job to pay rent, well I knew that, but I found a bit on the funding page saying I could apply for financial support if I'm not within "reasonable daily travel" for the course. I think being 170 miles away counts as "not within reasonable daily travel" But I also have to be studying full time. As in 5 days a week. Which means doing another 3 classes along with Psychology. So then how in Hell do I get a job that can pay the rest of the rent or whatever if I'm in college 5 days a week and doing homework or whatever on weekends?
Then I realise that unless I want to pay for the course, I have to start it before I turn 19. Which means starting it this year. So I'd have to apply now and explain to my parents and and and dear God this is fucking complicated. Potentially, there is a SMALL chance that I COULD MAYBE move in with Rie and get a job and pay her parents rent. I'd be more than happy to do that. But I can't force two people to put up with me on a permanent basis like that, can I?
That and my mum already doesn't really approve of my relationship and it's not like she could stop me exactly, but I don't want to leave on bad terms with my family. I'd want to visit them when I can. I can't really find this course in Motherwell. They have it in Higher, but I'm pretty sure A Level is a bit higher and according to the college website I'm considering, I can go on to do a degree in psychology after this which I apparently need to do to become a counsellor.
It could be possible to sort everything out and start this year, and I really think it'd be good to get away from home for a while and not just for a short holiday. But I really don't know how to even begin to tell my parents.
"Hey, you know that girl you've met twice? Well I'm moving down to live near, possibly with, her and I'm going to go to college there too. " How do I even BEGIN to explain this? I really want to do it, but it could be really hard.
Any ideas or suggestions from ANYONE would help. Please?

English education systems can be a little complicated Why're you going to college to do A-Levels if you've already done your highers? Would you not be ready to go to uni...? They have higher requirements on the UCAS website for any uni courses if that helps x
