March 7, 2015.
Today I had a competition for my school at Trident Technical College and I went with a lot of kids from my school where we separated into different groups for different competing categories (i.e. Math, Science, etc.). My group was competing in a bridge building competition where, like it sounds, we had to building a small bridge out of balsa wood and test how strong it was compared to other surrounding schools. My team's bridge ended up getting disqualified for stupid reasons but it's our first year and the other team's bridge qualified so it all worked out. My best friend showed up, I got free food and clothes, got to hang out with other good friends, and even learned some fun games like Blackjack strip-poker style (only down to pants and tank tops). Over all it was a really good day up until right before the awards ceremony.

See, I've been having this thing with another girl from a prep school down the road and, while my friend's know that said person goes to the school and that we're sorta together (not official yet), they have clue that she's a girl. Everyone thinks she's a he and that "his" name is Robert. She moved to my neighborhood about a month and a half ago, right after Christmas, and after hanging out for a while she suddenly kissed me out of the blue in the middle of my sentence. She felt me tense up and when she started freaking out and saying that she thought I was gay I explained that I hadn't really expected that and had been curious but was scared to say anything because most people in my life are homophobic (including my ex best friend who I had to push away because I start[font="Comic Sans MS"]ed developing a crush on and didn't want to ruin things with her like that but she has no idea). By the end of the day we had worked things out and now we're together and I haven't been this happy in a while. Anyways, right before the ceremony started someone from the prep recognized me (the person I'm with is pretty open about it at her school) and pretty much blurted it out and was super happy about it and loud right in front of everyone at my school. I have no clue if anyone heard but I get bullied enough at school without this happening and I'm so scared I have no clue what to do. My girl doesn't know that I'm freaking out and I don't want her to think I'm ashamed, because I'm not.

I'm terrified. My best friend is not a fan of gay people and my other friends try to act normal around homosexuals but I see right through them. My mom's side of the family thinks they're all going to hell and my dad's parents are the same way. I just want to be happy but I don't know how to work this out.
