Whee, I'm gonna make a journal up here!

Well, I had a bit of an argument with Jon tonight about a VERY important issue. We both have completely different views about this, and I'm not sure we can reach a compromise. I'm actually really hoping I might get some advice from this entry.
Basically, as many of you know, he's currently away for his Navy training and he will be arriving back home for his Christmas leave on December 19th, and he'll be here for 16 days. During that time, although he is already my fiancé and we already have wedding plans going up, he will be officially proposing with a ring; he was unable to afford the proposal before he left for boot camp so we had no other alternative, we just had to wait a bit longer. Now, here's the problem.
I'm immensely excited, I just cannot wait! I'm so giddy about it and I just can't stop thinking about it. So obviously, I want to make sure he has a close friend/family member out of my eyesight to snap pictures of that precious moment. You know, something along those lines. However, although Jon won't give me even the slightest detail about what he plans to do for the proposal, he made it clear tonight that when he proposes, he wants it to be a special moment between just me and him, and that his family won't be around. He also feels that there are, as he put it, "Just some moments too precious to capture on a photo." He doesn't want any photos of the moment when it happens, not at all. I'm really disappointed about this, especially considering I'm a huge photo geek as it is! I tried to change his mind about it, but he's very stubborn. He's set on how he feels about this, and I'm just sad I won't have photos of the moment.
Is there anything I can do?
