Whee, I'm gonna make a journal up here!
Stressing out. D:

So much, you have no idea. Nekocon (it's a convention) is in November! Jon and I have to get to work with planning. One thing I've learned? Every Nekocon plan we make falls through at the last minute, never fails. We had 10 backup plans last year and every one of them went down the drain.
Frank has a hotel room already and is pre-ordering his weekend pass today. Wynter is selling her dirtbike for some extra Nekocon cash, and is still building her amazing cosplay. She'll be staying with her brother, right next door to the convention. Me and Jon? We lucked out big time. I have a good friend (loooong story, not getting into it) who has just had a new house built and he's going to rent his old house. He says if the house isn't rented by then we can spend the 4 days in that house, or if it's rented we can stay in the shop he owns (he has a welding business), it has a fridge, microwave, and even a bathroom with a shower. We just need his air mattress. So we have a free place to stay, which is wonderful.
The bad part? Cosplay. We're pretty low on money this year, all of us are. We all pretty much have jack shit moneywise. My mom helps me out each year since it's right around my birthday, but she's being really bad this year. She insists I'm "too old for this crap" and I need to grow up and she wants nothing to do with this "childish mess." Tell that to the grown men and women I see there every year, some with their kids! Basically I work my ass off doing all the housework (and some outdoor work) every day with no thanks and no pay. I never ask for anything, especially this time of year. I even offered to do extra work and pay for half the cosplay (which is very inexpensive this year, too) but she still keeps getting angry at me. It's driving me nuts.
Nekocon is really special and important to me. Hell, it's where Jon and I got together! If it weren't for Nekocon, Jon and I really would not be together today. I know you guys probably don't get it, most people don't unless they're into this stuff, but it really is important to us. The insane amount of stress is just part of the yearly process, we go through it every time. It's worth it in the end.
