Whee, I'm gonna make a journal up here!
It was fun, but I'm tired.
Yesterday was crazy. I was supposed to have a relaxing day at Jon's house, and we were going to have the house to ourselves all day because his whole family was going out. Well, that changed at the last second. The company Jon's dad works for was having a big company picnic for all the employees and their families, hence Jon and I having the house to ourselves. Nope, we ended up going to the picnic with them. Thank god it was held inside and outside; it was like a big giant garage really, it held all the equipment, and it had been cleared out for giant picnic tables. All the big doors were open to let in a breeze, and there were games and prizes to be played outside. It started raining pretty hard at one point, but it didn't last long. Jon's dad won some money, we had tons of amazing food, and Jon and I were stuck watching baby Ryleigh quite a bit. Her favorite toy is my hair.
After it was all finally over, we visited some close relatives of his who live nearby. I'd only met them once for a big family party back in December. We all got together and played dice, and Jon was supposed to play a game of pool with me but he didn't, big liar. We took Ryleigh out to pet the horses, but she kept wanting to put her tiny fist into their noses.
They normally stay there, play drinking games, and leave at around 1 am, but Jon's mom was really tired so we all left at about 10 pm. I finally made it home and passed out. Hell, I'm still tired now.
Friday was busy too; Jon had his final ROTC award ceremony and I was going with him. He appreciated it quite a bit, since this was his last ceremony and he knows it's pretty boring for the families sitting on the bleachers for 2 hours. AND we got there early, so he was put on guard duty and I kept making funny faces at him. So, I sat there watching awards being given to random people I didn't know, getting my hair pulled by baby Ryleigh, my butt going to sleep on the bleachers, and cheering when Jon got his awards. And now after a full busy week, I'm tired. Goodnight.
PS- Is it cliche to say I love a man in uniform?
