So I watched the live stream of the funeral. I'm so glad the family chose to share it that way, there's no way I could travel to WA for it. It was - it was people trying to make the best of a shitty situation. I cried through nearly the whole thing (something I probably wouldn't have been able to do if I was there in person), and I just kept thinking about how he's gone, that wasn't him in the coffin, it was just a body in a box.

This is what Blayne looked like when I met him in 2012.

And this is what he looked like on January 26th, just 4 days before he passed.

So - he's gone. And that's sad. I just keep thinking random stuff like, "if there's an after-life, I hope it has weather - it would suck to have no weather" and other odd things.

So now, I guess now is when I grieve on my own. And let go. It's so hard but there's no point holding on to a person once they're dead. He's just memories now.

Happier blog post in the not-too-distant future, hopefully.
