Probably the happiest day of my life.

Happiest for somebody else!
Karina and Jeremy's wedding was today. She was beautiful, he handsome, basically they looked exactly how a couple looks when you fantasise about weddings.
She was dressed in white and veiled. She had a small bouquet of dark red flowers, and the only noticeable make-up was lipstick in a matching colour. Her bridesmaids and maid of honour (Rosie, Shelley, and Rebekkah Lamb respectively), wore pretty blue dresses and held bouquets the same as Karina's. Jeremy wore a tuxedo in the regular colours, with a light blue tie. His best man, and two others, wore waistcoats the same colour as Jeremy's tux, and had ties of a darker blue. Jeremy and his men all had a flower similar to that in the bouquets pinned to their left lapels.
It was a mostly traditional wedding, with exchange of vows and so forth, but with another tradition I was not aware of - the weaving of cords. One to represent Karina, one to represent Jeremy, and one (a white one) to represent Christ and his place in their marriage.
Rosie sang. She's got a good voice, but we already knew that as she sings professionally. Louise witnessed for Karina, and a fellow by the name of Shannon witnessed for Jeremy.
At the beginning of the ceremony, both sets of parents were asked to give away the care of their children into the care of one another.
Two songs were sung in the service - Amazing Love, and In Christ Alone. It was a very long time since I sang a song in church, and I was surprised (and pleased) that my voice still comes out as a mellow and pleasant (to me) tenor. (Yes, I have a very low voice for a female. I can sing higher, but I find the lower registers easier.) There was also a brief message given.
The church was packed. Every single seat was taken, so far as I could see. It's clear just how much the two of them mean to so many people. I am so happy for her, and I wish her every joy in the future.
Other stuff.
Yes, I nearly cried when I first saw Karina walking up the aisle. I was definitely not alone in this, though. I think most people present were holding back tears, even Jeremy.
Saw Louise. We didn't recognise each other at first, because both of us were wearing both make-up and dresses, which is unusually not only for me but for her as well. We caught up a bit. It was nice. I also saw her parents, and Karina's parents, and Rosie, and Shelley, and Deborah Gill, all of whom were pleased to see me - and I was pleased to see them also.
Many people complemented my hair, which felt weird, because how my hair happened was as follows: Look in mirror. Crap, what do I do with my hair? Spike back, flatten front, okay, that will have to do. Even the groom complemented my hair, I felt honoured.
Judith (Karina's Mum), actually thanked me for coming to the wedding. Although as I said to her, and she agreed, of course I would be at Karina's wedding. And quietly to myself, I wouldn't miss it for the world.
I wasn't invited to the reception but that matters little. I was there at the ceremony, and a more joyous event it could not have been.
I can go to bed in peace tonight, knowing there is a little more love in the world than there was before.
