So today was uneventfully eventful.
I didn't do very much in the morning, in the afternoon I went with my mother and elder brother to the place where he was going to sit his restricted license. (In New Zealand we have three main license classes, Learner's - where you must be accompanied by somebody who's been fully licensed for at least 5 years and also display "L" plates; Restricted - where you can drive alone and only between the hours of 5am and 10pm - outside of those hours, or with passengers, you must be accompanied by a fully licensed driver same as learner's; and Full - where you drive where you want, when you want, with whomever you want.) Anyways, whilst I was there I got it into my head that I should check if they provide cheaper insurance than the company I'm currently with. Turns out that they do, so I'll be swapping in the near future.
My brother failed his restricted. I'm torn between wanting to laugh, and feeling bad for him. He failed his Learner's the first time he sat that, too. I, however, passed every license first time. The only issue really is that my license is currently revoked and shall remain so until at least October 21st.
Tomorrow morning I have this powhiri I'm supposed to attend with Sam and the CLS lady (her name is Leisa), and apparently me and Sam need to talk about who's what goes into the flat, because there's some furniture and whiteware and stuff that we both have, so we need to decide whose goes into the place, and whose stays in storage. For the most part it's probably going to be fairly straightfoward, just pick the best of the two. Bedroom stuff obviously doesn't matter as we will each have our own bedroom. Naturally.
I'm a bit concerned about power because apparently we'll be on a GloBug, not paid-monthly power, and I've never been on prepaid power before. Apparently it's relatively cheap but I'm still apprehensive about it, same as with everything. We're going to have a landline, so I don't know how we'll figure out payment for that, probably get it sorted through Keys, and I'm going to arrange internet for us. I don't mind paying the entire internet bill, because Sam doesn't have a laptop at the moment (hers was stolen), and if I go through Xnet/WorldXchange, then it's only going to be about $35 - $40 per month for 5 or 6GB anyway, which will be more than enough for the two of us I expect.
Mum has said that when she gets a flat-screen TV I can have the one she's using currently. I'm kinda glad, I don't know if Sam has a TV or not, but even if she does, I'll try and set it up in my room - might even get a gaming system one day, you never know.
Mum has also recently re-read the terms of the cabin rental. *insert evil laugh here* She has also discovered that the minimum term is one year - I already knew this - and that she's likely to be out of pocket for 6 months. She said she's going to try and ring Judy about it, but fuck it. If she hadn't made it so clear when they were discharging me that she wanted me out, my name would have never been transferred to CLS. So I guess my mother still has some learning to do about consequences.
I'll need to make sure I change pharmacists, as I need to pick up my prescription weekly. I'll just go up to my current one sometime over the next week and ask them to transfer the script to Southmall Pharmacy, which is the one I was using before.
I also have to remember to put toilet paper and cat food on my shopping list.
Sweet as guys.
