I felt like working on another blog, I mean, I'm not doing anything else.

I'm considering walking around, going to my special place, which is this walk that leads from the grave yard to this little balcony thing, which stares over the ocean. I've never been there alone, but... I want to go a lot, it's just... That place that makes me feel calm. But I know if I go it will be a total waste because, 1) there is still snow so I can't chill on the bench, and 2) It would feel weird to go there without A.

I'm also considering doing this stupid thing where I dress up or pull out outfits and pack for my conference. Yup, going to be missing a week and a day of school because I'm going to a conference. With A and Kidd, two of my greatest friends! Better yet, the whole trip other than spending money is free. I really can't wait. I get to see my YAC/YLT friends, who are also doing this conference, and some new people!

When I started with my internet, because it's fast. Yes, in Nunavut, we have it kind of slow most of the time. Basically, you either have to live with slow internet often, or pay a shit load because you over used stuff. I've had a friend who went over by 500 dollars, probably more.
Anyways, the first thing I watched was "Feel The Inukness", because I love the guy in it! I'm a big fan, and can I say, I LIVE IN THE SAME TOWN! -The school with the bones in front of it is my high school! (I don't get why I'm so YAY! because I hate that place!)

FEEL THE INUKNESS
I've grown up with a lot of scottish jigs, I'm pretty sure they were brought up with the whalers, the original Qaalunaat (I'm guessing at the spelling, not that it maters, because none of you can spell it either)- which, not to be racist, I've heard it means "Bushy eyebrows"... or something along the lines of that!

-Some places he dances, like, the blue place? in the winter it's really pretty, expecially in Christmas, because they put all these lights up, and they give out lighting up toys and they have choirs sing and it's just so pretty when it lights up! it has this inuksuk that's outside, and I remember when my dad and A's dad built it, it was really cool to visit them and stuff like that.

Around 1:12, it's REALLY close to my special place, because basically you walk from around there down a hill, then you walk uphill for a bit, and then you reach it! I have plenty of photos showing the beauty of it

I love this. When I first saw it I nearly jumped for joy and smiled like a mad man, it's my home town! It just made me feel so happy, even through it's talking about a serious subject that made me sad. I don't have that. I don't have my culture as my background as much as I should. I don't speak inuktuk, I barely know how to write my name in inuktituk either. Anyways, the place he exits is a bank... And he walks past the northen store, and an elementary school. I love the way the water looks, it makes me a little sad because we still have ice (Yes, the ocean here gets covered with ice, mostly because there is a lot of fresh water that gets mixed in. It makes for an interesting ride in a kumutik, that's for sure!)

And then this is just this video that made me laugh like crazy even through it sucks because it actually happened! We lived for a while with no internet! It was like, WHAT? -I couldn't call my mom to tell her to pick me up because cell phones weren't working, we couldn't take out cash, we couldn't make long distance phone calls, we couldn't check our facebook, we couldn't have airplaines come in. so basically the town shut down a bit, just like it does whenever we have rolling power (Which happens, I think our generators broke like, twice in the past two years or so.)

here it is:

------

Anyways, I want to explain some things...

Qaalunaat means "white" people.

Kumutik means this sled that is pulled either by dogs or skidoos, mostly skidoos now.

what he's wearing in "To That Place" is traditional wear, I'm guessing it's made of seal.

The bones in the "Feel the Inukness" are whales jaw bones, they were caught in our first whale hunt of the year.

And, yea

I'm happy to share~!!
