So nice of you to drop by, thank you so much for doing so! In case you don't happen to know who I am, my name is Mark. I'm a 23-year old who's currently building a life that I want to enjoy for the long term. This blog is designed for young adults who seek guidance and clarity on the problems that life often throws at us. What you will gain from reading my blog entries is the wisdom that I've learned along the way that has helped me create and live a better life. You can absolutely do the same. If you happen to read some of my oldest entries, you will notice how I've changed along the way compared to now.

I want to remind you that we all go through challenges and obstacles. We can't go back and change what happened. All we can do is our best at the end of the day and learn from experience so we don't end up repeating the same mistakes.

If you ever want to message me about anything, feel free to PM me and I will answer back as soon as possible.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day wherever you are in whatever time zone you are in!

Suicide...

The one thing that today's youth
Struggles with the most,
And happens more often
Than most can ever imagine.

People often misjudge these individuals,
Labeling them as "out of their mind"
And at the same time,
The people condemn them
For thinking such thoughts.

But have people ever really bothered
To set aside their incompetent ignorance,
And actually really learn
Why the youth of today
Have these thoughts of suicide?

And it's not just the youth struggling
With such thoughts.

It's also some adults too,
That think they have
Nothing to live for
When the hardships
Come raining down on them.

See, most would think
Suicide is something
Someone intentionally wants to do
Because they suck at life,
And don't know how to do anything right,
That they kill themselves
Out of cowardliness.

That's not the case.

See, suicide is a growing problem
Becoming more and more common,
And you wonder why it hasn't
Been completely stopped.

When someone dies from suicide,
People feel sorry for that person,
And that's when everyone gathers around
For the loss of this one person's life,
And makes a memorial for them.

THAT'S when everyone cares...

Well, how about this?

Why didn't anyone save this person
From killing themself?

Why didn't anyone befriend this person,
And help them through all that
They were going through?

Why didn't anyone make
The high road choice
And choose to be
A part of this person's life?

Maybe...just maybe...

Someone could've been
A beacon of hope
To the person
Who was thinking
About ending their life.

Maybe...just maybe...

Someone could've been
The one reason
For that person to hold on,
Even when all seemed lost.

But no.

It seems most, especially
The ones in high school
Are more concerned
With their own self-image
And how they are viewed
By other people,
Especially by "the popular kids"
Than doing what is right.

Don't always believe in what others
May say to you about things,
Especially those with suicidal thoughts.

People with suicidal thoughts
Are often misunderstood,
And to really know
If they are really doing okay,
It's best to take the time
To be a listening ear.

They might be hesitant to say anything,
But if you're patient and willing to listen,
They will open up to you.

Encourage yourself to befriend
These people if the time ever comes
You encounter such a person.

They're no different
From you and I.

Who knows?

You may just become
The friend that they never had.

You may just become
The hero that gave them hope.
