So nice of you to drop by, thank you so much for doing so! In case you don't happen to know who I am, my name is Mark. I'm a 23-year old who's currently building a life that I want to enjoy for the long term. This blog is designed for young adults who seek guidance and clarity on the problems that life often throws at us. What you will gain from reading my blog entries is the wisdom that I've learned along the way that has helped me create and live a better life. You can absolutely do the same. If you happen to read some of my oldest entries, you will notice how I've changed along the way compared to now.
I want to remind you that we all go through challenges and obstacles. We can't go back and change what happened. All we can do is our best at the end of the day and learn from experience so we don't end up repeating the same mistakes.
If you ever want to message me about anything, feel free to PM me and I will answer back as soon as possible.
Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day wherever you are in whatever time zone you are in!

Even the Good Guys Get Burned
Posted September 14th 2017 at 11:51 PM by CrusadingAvenger
It's true.
The nice people,
The kind-hearted,
The ones that you talk to
And think how genuine
This person really is,
Are the ones that do
Struggle the most.
On the outside,
They're the kindest person
You've probably ever seen,
But deep down on the inside,
They're the ones that are hurting,
Battling the battles
That is causing them distress.
I consider myself one of these people.
If you were to ever meet me in person,
You would know I'm a genuinely good guy,
But if I were to tell you my whole life story,
You'd be surprised
At how much I've gotten burned
By former friends and potential interests.
When something doesn't go
The way you want it to
With someone,
You have a tendency
To question yourself,
To doubt yourself,
To be upset with yourself
Thinking
"What did I do to deserve
Such awful things?"
Nothing.
You did nothing.
Often times, the bad apples
Take advantage of people
Like you and me,
And they never appreciate
The good things we do
Out of our own hearts.
We have those moments
Where we feel like
Befriending someone
Most of the time
Turns out to be
One huge disaster
Only inevitable.
But how can we really know
If the person we choose
To be friends with
Have good intentions with us?
We don't.
At least, not the first time we meet them.
We can't just shut out people completely
Because of a great many awful experiences.
We have to remember
That of all the handful,
Merciless people in the world,
There are still good people
That exist out there.
Never lose faith in people.
I know generally speaking,
People are cruel,
People are selfish,
People are jackasses,
And the list goes on and on.
But out of all the people out there,
There still exists the very few
That is genuine and true.
Don't be afraid
To be one of these very few people.
It's not the most popular crowd,
But it is a crowd
That if we can set an example
To someone who is struggling
With their own life,
We can make a difference.
If you're out there,
Know that you're special.
You genuinely care,
And wouldn't wish anything
Bad to happen to anyone.
There will continue to be
Bad apples we come across
In our own lives,
But there will also be
The sweet strawberries
That blissfully enter our life,
And come to stay.
