So nice of you to drop by, thank you so much for doing so! In case you don't happen to know who I am, my name is Mark. I'm a 23-year old who's currently building a life that I want to enjoy for the long term. This blog is designed for young adults who seek guidance and clarity on the problems that life often throws at us. What you will gain from reading my blog entries is the wisdom that I've learned along the way that has helped me create and live a better life. You can absolutely do the same. If you happen to read some of my oldest entries, you will notice how I've changed along the way compared to now.

I want to remind you that we all go through challenges and obstacles. We can't go back and change what happened. All we can do is our best at the end of the day and learn from experience so we don't end up repeating the same mistakes.

If you ever want to message me about anything, feel free to PM me and I will answer back as soon as possible.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day wherever you are in whatever time zone you are in!

I’ve seen a handful of it.
Bullying,
Abuse,
Self-harm,
Suicide,
Loneliness,
All of it.

It’s mind-blowing
To imagine
What all these things
Can do to a person’s mind
And to their well-being.

Sometimes these bad experiences
Can either make a person stronger,
Or it can turn them into something ugly.

I’ve seen the latter,
And it’s not pretty.

All the bullying that’s been done,
To this one individual
I personally know
Has entirely changed him,
And mostly not for the better.

Sure he takes up lots of martial arts,
Sure he has learned to hate people,
Sure he fights back both physically and verbally,
And acts like tough dog,
But deep down,
He is still hurting,
And wants a sense of belonging,
For somebody to give a damn,
But I know all that hate,
All that anger
Has consumed him,
And turned him into this
Cold, antisocial being.

I can’t save him.
I did everything I could,
But even after everything,
All the comfort,
All the sympathy,
All the reassurance,
All the company,
It was never enough,
And it never will be.

When a lot of damage has been done
To one individual,
Some may never get over it,
And they end up becoming
What they hated the most.

So go ahead.
Open up all the fancy martial arts classes,
Have all the assemblies
Where everyone gathers around
To hear one person speak
Whose never been through
Such dreadful things,
Make all the short films
And commercials
Detailing how bad bullying is,
But it will never be enough.

It will not be the same
As having personal connection
With that person that is hurting,
Who is battling their inner demons,
And showing compassion and love
Towards that individual.

If we just showed each other
Some compassion and love
To one another
Maybe there wouldn’t be jackasses
All over the place
Or even an angry individual
Who becomes the school shooter
You hear about on the news.

So I ask each and every one of you
To show a little more compassion
And love than you did the previous day.

Do that every single day.

If you know someone
Who needs that in their life,
Be that person to give it to them.

Not everyone can be saved,
Not everyone will want to be,
But if there is any hope
For a better world tomorrow…

It starts with you and me.
