When you hear a noise and think "that's beautiful" or see something floating in the water and think "how peaceful" that's true inspiration.

I've been depressed for as long as I can remember. They've tried meds, but the meds only work so much. I used to self-harm by cutting and scratching myself, but I'm proud to say I've mostly recovered from that. I have great friends who I talk to when I feel suicidal, and they help me out of it. But it seems everything always gets disrupted by my depression. I'll be doing something really fun, then all of sudden get so sad, and I just want to curl up in a ball and cry. But when I was young, my father told me crying is weakness and would hit me for crying. To this day I still have trouble crying.:?

    Crying isn't weak at all.

Crying actually is a rather good outlet and most people feel better after doing so. There's something (I can't remember what) that is actually released with tears and that helps you feel a little better, too.

Feel free to send me a message if you'd like to chat!

It is possible that you haven't found the medicines that work for you yet. I know I am still trying to find the right medications. Also, have you ever gone to therapy? Therapy can be a great way to get things out. I personally think that therapy has helped me a lot but it took me a while to find the right therapist.

Feel free to message me if you want to chat.
